What are .script files?
.Script files are descendants from common .ini files. You can include any type of file inside them, allowing to include any image, compressed archives or executable files. Most values can be read either by simple "key=value" sintax or you can choose to read all lines of text within a ini "[section]". Script files can be edited with any standard text editor, altought I personaly recomend notepad++, an open source editor.
You can write lines in plain text files, or write values in .Ini format. PE users can use scripts to handle registry values and load external registry hives.
Scripts can also run external applications with some interesting options such as running a program in "invisible" mode. All types of file operations are also supported, allowing to easily copy, move, delete files or entire directories.
What is our goal?
This is a free project meant to simplify the process of making bootable CD/DVD's or any other bootable media. Using .script files is possible to make a way to automate this process in an easy way. Anyone can edit an .script file and see how it works, therefore there is no "hidden" magic behind this scripting process. It's a good way to teach others how they can make better bootable PE's that really suit their needs and to learn a little on the internal works behind the microsoft operative system
How can I make my own script?
.Script files sintax is quite easy to learn, and the best way to learn how to use it is getting a copy of a .script file and checking out how it works.
You can also check the sintax and the tutorial pages where you'll find information about .script format and popular scripts.
